Dear Henry,

It's so hard for us to believe you are three now! While I will readily admit that there were days during those first few sleep-deprived months that seemed to crawl by, now the days fly by so quickly it's hard to keep count. You remind me on a regular basis "I'm not a baby, I'm a big boy!". And yes, buddy, yes you are.

Some of the things you loved as a two year old haven't changed- spaghetti and chocolate pudding still put a twinkle in your eye, as does the mention of going to the park. You are such a friendly boy. It takes you all of five seconds to find someone to play with when we're out. While you make friends easily, you keep only a few on your "favorite friends" list. Jonathan, Ari, Jack, Cohen and Ella Grace are probably your top five.

You love to sing and listen to music in the car. Generally you're a big fan of the Beatles (can't imagine where that came from) but this morning your favorites were "Faith" by George Michaels and "Gettin' Jiggy wit it" by Will Smith. You are a musical wild card.

Even though you've never seen one of the movies, you're oddly so into the Avengers. You can put your Ironman costume on and rush to Mommy's rescue in the blink of an eye. Jake and the Neverland Pirates is also highly Henry-approved.

School is going so well for you, buddy. Ms. Christy had nothing but good things to say at the first official parent/teacher conference that Daddy and I went to. You are learning so much and from what I've seen when I'm there, you are so kind to others. I hope that we continue to encourage you to be such a kind and brave soul.

You are just a little stubborn. There's debate on which side of the family you get this from- but we all know who you got that amazing red hair from so I think that might be a clue.

I took you out a couple of weeks ago for a 3-year photo session. Even though there might have been just a little encouragement by Mommy with promises of some Halloween candy, you really were a good sport and were so stinking adorable. You are Mommy's little muse. I will never take photographs of anyone else that could compare to the ones I'm able to capture of my sweet boy. You truly inspire me.

You're growing up, Henry, so fast- no doubt about it. Daddy and I are so lucky to be the ones who get to take care of you, guide you, and encourage you. And we are so very proud!

We love you buddy!
