Oh my. It's been several weeks since I've posted to our blog! Our days have been so busy lately. It's busy season for photography and Henry is playing fall baseball. The weather has still been so summer-like up until the last few days, that we've spent the first part of fall busy outside with the summer chores of weeding and mowing. And obviously, this keeps us a little busy to say the least-
We are in back into the full swing of school. First grade hasn't been a drastic change for Henry. He is loving his teacher, Mrs. Martin, and his reading skills have exploded! One minute he was sounding out words in simple books, then one day I looked up to find his nose deep in a chapter book. One very exciting thing that happened a couple of weeks into first grade was that we all got to witness the eclipse! Our area was just outside the path of totality, but it was still one of the coolest things I'd ever witnessed. Since it all happened during Charlie's nap time, I was able to scoot down the road to Henry's school and tuck myself right on in with the kids. Such an experience!
As of the last couple of days, the temperatures have really cooled off and it's finally starting to feel like FALL around here. As much as I hate the thought of weather getting dreadfully cold and being stuck inside, these days leading up to all that are just glorious. A sure sign that Fall has truly arrived is a trip down the road to Lucky Ladd Farms. This year, first grade took their field trip to Lucky Ladd- so of course Charlie and I decided to tag along.
Fall break is almost here and we have some big fun planned for that- I'm sure I'll be back to share that soon!
