My sweet Henry- late last month you turned seven years old! This year for your birthday you wanted to have your birthday party at Pump It Up (also known as the hardest place on earth to take decent photos, ha). You invited all your buddies and you guys had the best time jumping yourselves silly, followed up with pizza and cake.
On the day of your actual birthday we started the same way that we did last year- birthday pancakes! It's hard to beat whipped cream and chocolate chips first thing in the morning.
The rule on your birthday is that you get to chose your meals the entire day. So at lunchtime, Charlie and I popped by your school and took you outside for a little Chick-fil-a picnic. And for dinner- of course, spaghetti. Our favorite neighbor friends came to celebrate with us. And there were lots of fans of your chocolate birthday cake.
Of course, as always, I asked you the same list of questions on your birthday. Original spelling included because that's my favorite type of memory! There were a few changes from last year!
-What is your favorite color? Red
-What is your favorite toy? Lego
-What is your favorite animal? cat
-What is your favorite breakfast? pancakes
-What is your favorite dinner? sooshee
-What is your favorite holiday? hawlleen
-What is your favorite place to visit? o hiye o
-What do you want to be when you grow up? Do not no
-What are you best at? Bulding legos
-Who is your best friend? oliveea
The changes in you between ages six and seven have been unbelievable. Your reading has catapulted from watching you sound out words with determination to seeing you walk around the house with your nose stuck in a chapter book. It makes my mama heart so happy to see you turning into a little bookworm! Your teacher has started sending you home with "challenge" spelling words each week. I honestly teared up at your first parent teacher conference this year, not only when Mrs. Martin talked about how smart you are, but how kind you are to your classmates. You had your first piano lesson last week and Mrs. Judy raved about how well you did, and on the way home caught a glimpse of your little fingers practicing on the interior of the Prius. I nearly melted!
Earlier this week I picked you up from school a little early and we had a Mommy/Henry outing so I could capture you at seven. Henry, you are brilliant, handsome, and kind. How could we ask for anything more? We love you!
